Stanisław MacLeod

“The threads of fate have tied our tongues.”
(By Timothy Morton)
Stanisław (Staś) is an interdisciplinary designer, and recent graduate in Masters’ of European Design at Glasgow School of Art. Growing up in London, Staś identifies with the chaos and diversity of its crowded streets. Yet, his Polish background has given him plenty of time in the mountains and forests of Poland, where his fascination with the natural world grew. As a result, much of his work concerns itself with a similar sense of duality - whether with the material and the immaterial, the visible and invisible or the human and non-human.

Being able to study in Glasgow, Paris and Helsinki has enabled Staś to pick up a range of skills which he often alternates between, from service design thinking and strategy to investigation of form, material and symbolism. He has also had experience working alongside companies such as Iittala, Heineken and Conforama. Staś enjoys the freedom of starting a new project as a clean slate; later bringing in appropriate knowledge and ways of working and is a strong advocate for learning through making.
